This video changed my life.

TED TALK: “The power of vulnerability” by Brené Brown

When I was in intensive outpatient last September, our therapist showed us this video. It changed my life- my perspective, my meaning, my depth. I hope it can inspire you to be more vulnerable to people about yourself, your imperfections, and your life because that leaves room for them to do so too. This video about how vulnerability establishes connection is perhaps the largest purpose behind Refusal to Sink. I believe RTS leaves space for people to pour their hearts out and receive love back. To scream at the top of their lungs and say “I’m not okay but I will be okay”. To say I need people and people need me. Let’s be a community of broken yet beautiful, messy people who can share their struggles and celebrate their victories together. Vulnerability and its capacity is why I share what I share in my wholehearted messiness of life.
